Holiday on Horseback - Warner Guiding & Outfitting
Experience the real west on horseback. For 44 years Warner Guiding & Outfitting
Has been pleased to uphold the back country tradition
Ideal for those with just a day or so to catch hold of a little of the west are the in-town rides. Travel along the Bow River, or up onto Sulphur mountain. Backcountry rides are perfect for people of all ages and abilities, who have a little more time to spend in the Rockies. There’s something for everyone, tenting or lodges from two to six days.
Leave behind deadlines and schedules and trade them for fresh mountain air, a good horse, and a trail that leads you to one spectacular view after another. Wake to the bugling call of a bull elk or the tantalizing aroma of pan fried trout. See perfect spots for once in a lifetime photos, mountain stream fishing and viewing wildlife in its natural habitat.
Holiday on horseback is conveniently located and easily accessible from anywhere in the world. Banff, with its fabulous back country trails and wilderness, is just 75 miles from the city of Calgary and its well-served international airport. Wilderness Tenting Trips - From three days to six days. Spacious A-frame tents, fire pits, rustic rail corrals, and a large kitchen tent at each camp site. There's usually time for some exploring, fishing and even a well deserved snooze in the tall grass.
Lodge Rides - A little luxury in the backcountry. Your days are spent riding and exploring while evenings are spent in a cozy lodge. Relax by the wood stove or curl up with a blanket and a good book, it’s called “roughing it” the civilized way.
Adventure Expeditions - The most challenging and rugged tent trips. Brush up on your camp skills as new camps are established daily. These rides visit isolated areas of Banff National Park that few have an opportunity to experience.
Local Rides - For those who cannot make a longer trip, local rides offer everything from 1 hour to full day trips in and around the Banff townsite including cookouts and covered wagon rides.
The combination of mountain air and a day out on the trail usually stirs up a mean appetite, and the cooks are ready to meet the challenge. Breakfast and dinner are sit-down affairs, and lunch is served picnic style along the trail. Belly up to the table and enjoy the fresh, mouth watering, ranch-style menu. But, don't forget to leave room for an ample selection of home-baked desserts!
