Help us move the yearlings to summer pasture; get the know the country and your horse. Spend one day gathering and separating then the next, moving cattle deeper into the foothills to summer pasture.
July 17-23 - "Move 'Em Out" - Summer Cattle Drive These heifers have spent a little time with the bull - now it's time for them to join the rest of the cattle in the summer pasture.
Oct 3-9 - "Rocky Mountain Roundup" - Fall Gather Spend a week gathering, sorting and bringing cattle home from the community pasture.

Plan a holiday that’s like a page from a western novel. Established in 1881, LUCASIA RANCH remains a working cattle and horse ranch nestled in the picturesque Porcupine Hills of southwestern Alberta. Each day, you’ll ride with the cowboys, checking the herd and moving cattle to new pastures. Or, just enjoy a relaxing ride in the foothills where elk and deer mingle amongst grazing cattle. At the end of the day, unwind at the historic Lucasia Ranch where the hospitality is right out of the old west.

On the next half of your journey, you’ll get you saddled up for a scenic pack trip into the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Trusty mountain horses carry you into pristine areas abundant with wildlife and incredible vistas. Each day wraps up back at base camp, where you’ll be treated to hearty western table fare and a welcoming campfire before turning in – sleeping in a traditional tent. Some riding experience is recommended.
